More people are using the internet to find used cars. Is your website up to the task?

A recent study done by J.D. Power and Associates is showing that for the first time, consumers looking to buy a used car are more likely to look online before they actually visit a car dealership.

Now, more than ever, we are seeing the importance of having a great online presence. From websites to social media, potential car-buyers are looking for the convenience of browsing at home before they go into a dealership. It makes sense. Less time spent dealing with commissioned sales people, being able to browse inventories on your own time, but more importantly, the ability to browse inventories quickly.

It is all too easy to overlook the fact that not only are car dealership websites convenient in terms of location because they can be accessed from anywhere, but they are actually more efficient for browsing large inventories as well. The simple fact is that a lot of shoppers would prefer being able to browse an inventory on their own, rather than be forced to walk over an entire lot with only a sales person as their guide.

Used car shoppers are not typically looking for a specific make and model. They are looking for a good deal on a car that fits their needs and thus are willing to be more flexible than the standard new-car buyer. This is why they feel more comfortable when they get to see and browse a large inventory. They are learning more about what they want and what they can get for what price. And as we mentioned earlier, it's just not as easy to browse a large inventory in person, when compared with the accessibility of the internet.

So now that we're seeing this trend in buying used cars, does your website stack up against the competition? Customers should be able to browse your inventory efficiently and effectively, with little to no learning curve. So what is your website doing? Do you only have pictures of vehicles on your website when today the internet is capable of so much more, like 360 interior views and video test drives? Are you incorporating the vast potential of social media into your marketing plans?

The potential for increasing sales via the internet is practically endless. To see what our company has to offer for improving your online presence, check out our website packages at http://www.worlddealer.net/Packages.cfm or give us a call at (866) 485-8800.
